Rwandan tactician Andre Casa Mbungo was shown the door at Bandari after a string of poor results back in February with his assistant Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani who has since taken over explaining how he has changed the club’s fortunes.Mbungo was handed a second shot in the Kenyan league by Bandari back in January 2021 after previously taking charge of AFC Leopards where he posted decent results.Mwita and Ndemi strikes leave hapless Rangers at seaKimani noted that Mbungo’s rough patch of results was down to the club having a number of players on the treatment table and had luck on his side after taking over with the players returning from injuries.“I tried to bring a relaxed atmosphere, the players were under a lot of pressure and we also had way too many injuries at around that point but fortunately when I took over the players returned. This means I had more options than my predecessor who did not have a lot of options because of the many injuries that were in the team,” said Kimani.Since taking over in February, Kimani has only suffered a single defeat at the hands of Nairobi City Stars in the 11 games he has managed with the team now sitting third on the log.Kimani braced for tough encounter against PostaAsked whether the Bandari board has approached him for a permanent role at the club after being appointed on an interim basis, Kimani was coy with his response.“I don’t know whether the management thinks that they are good results, I think they will take it from there. Mine is just to give my best every time I get an opportunity,” added Kimani.
