Kenyan international Kenneth Muguna featured for Azam FC as they suffered yet another league defeat to Mbeya City on Tuesday evening at Sokoine Stadium.Azam are currently struggling in the Tanzanian league with three defeats in their last five games. And although they sit third in the log, they risk missing out on CAF Club championship, if their fortunes do not change for the better heading into the final seven matches of the season. The first stanza of the game was evenly fought out and at the end of the first 45 minutes, there was no breakthrough for any of the two sides, it ended in a barren stalemate.Six minutes into the second, Azam went ahead through Juma Shemvuni. Both teams continued to push for more goals after that early second-half advantage for the hosts. Eliud Ambokeli then all but sealed a win for the hosts with a second goal seven minutes from time.I feel sad for the kind of resuilts Azam Fc are getting, disheartening would be underwording what the directors at mzizima must be harboring as sentiments,— Geoffrey (@Geoffrey87Lea) May 10, 2022 Tanzanian international, Ayubu Reuben Lyanga however made the dying minutes uncomfortable for Mbeya when he pulled one goal back for Azam, the hosts, however, managed to contain pressure in the dying embers of the game to pick a valuable win that may just boost their survival hopes as they are currently at the bottom of the Tanzanian Premier League table.Despite the high-profile signings they made before the start of the season, Azam have been underwhelming this campaign. The dismissal of George Lwandamina and the hiring of Abdihamin Moalin have not changed their fortunes much either.Next for Azam is another away game against Mtibwa Sugar on 19th May.
