Muyoti explains forward’s struggles

Nairobi City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti has explained why striker Nicholas Kipkirui has been struggling this season resulting in him being in and out of the team. The former Zoo and Gor Mahia striker has been in and out of City Stars’ starting XI and has scored just five goals so far this season. His overall contribution on the pitch has been disappointing in most cases as well but his coach, however, understands why the striker is struggling. According to Muyoti their passing style of play has made it difficult for the striker, known for his aerial prowess to thrive as they do not put many crosses into the box. He however revealed that they will try to accommodate him by tweaking their style in some instances.“Something that has been affecting him is our style of play, he is having very difficult situations that he cannot score much. With us crosses are not coming much because we are a team that likes to play football and so it is quite difficult for him but it is an area that we will have to address and see, we have to alternate from crosses to open play in order to make things easier,” he stated.Kipkirui: Team work the real factorForward Nicholas Kipkirui is angling for an improved show after coming through a recent injury that slowed down his optimal performance at Nairobi City Stars.Full story ⤵️[https://t.co/MuKvzyyDsh]#CityStars pic.twitter.com/gV7LiTXjru— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) March 10, 2022 Kipkirui started in the 1-0 win over Wazito on Monday and his coach was happy with his performance.
