Nyangweso opens up on Ulinzi’s struggles

2010 Premier League champions Ulinzi Stars have endured a wretched season that has seen them battle at the wrong end of the table with head coach Benjamin Nyangweso revealing that goals have been their achilles heel.The Soldiers have netted the lowest league tally of 17 goals one less than already relegated Mathare United but Ulinzi’s walkover against the same opponents handed them two goals which now takes their total to 19.Salim Ali banking on away form ahead of Ulinzi clashSpeaking to Mozzart Sport, Nyangweso revealed that goals have been a problem for Ulinzi this season but is glad his forwards are hitting form at the right time of the season.“I think we did not have the luck when it comes to scoring because we have been playing well, but we ended up losing at the end of our previous games. I’m happy that at least in the last two matches we have gotten two goals, I think my strikers have regained their form ahead of the final games of the season,” said Nyangweso.Ulinzi boosted their survival bid with a 1-0 win over Bidco United last weekend that opened up an eight-point buffer between themselves and Vihiga Bullets who are yet to be officially awarded three points in their game against Gor Mahia which was abandoned due to crowd troubles.Masita makes the difference as Ulinzi Stars whip Bidco UnitedNyangweso however exuded confidence that the team will not suffer relegation at the end of the season after posting one of the worst campaigns in recent times.“I do not think we will suffer relegation at the end of the season, we will survive, that I’m sure of,” said Nyangweso.
