The departing Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee has assured that the currently ongoing 2021/2022 league campaigns are expected to come to a successful completion despite the committee’s mandate having come to an end on 10 May 2022 thereby leaving a power vacuum as to who is in charge of footballing activities in the country.Having officially ended their six-month tenure on Tuesday and handed over their recommendations to Sports Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohamed, the organization of the leagues was technically left with no one at the helm as Amina had promised to give the next direction on Thursday 12 May, something that failed to happen.Sports CS receives final report from FKF Caretaker Committee https://t.co/sELMNrllEc pic.twitter.com/ZKv7keWqwS— FKFcaretaker (@FKFcaretaker) May 10, 2022 With the dilemma at hand, the caretaker committee’s leagues and competition chairman Ali Amour stated that the leagues were expected to overcome the vacuum barrier and run as normal with clubs expected to follow the already available schedule.“There will not be a vacuum in the league because all our systems and fixtures are communicated. The clubs will know the schedule they are supposed to play and will only be expected to honour the matches,” Amour told NTV.FKF Caretaker Committee’s recommendations as they exitAdditionally, Amour stated that the concerning issue of prize money to the league winners had been included as one of their recommendations to the Cabinet Secretary. Although, he did not state the exact amount that would be given to the league winners, Amour noted they had recommended that all the other teams apart from the league winners should also get some token after a season ends.“We have recommended about the prize money. What we have is that everyone should get their share from the league winners to all the other teams that participated in the league. It is one of our recommendations so whoever comes in after us will implement it,” he revealed.Previously, the disbanded Football Kenya Federation used to give five million shillings to the league winners only with the other teams staring from a distance.
