CF Montreal’s captain Victor Wanyama and midfield partner Ismail Ikone will return from a one-match suspension for their side’s Sunday league match against Charlotte FC on Sunday morning at Bank of America Stadium in North California.Wanyama and Ikone sat out of last weekend’s 4-1 win over Orlando City through suspension. Both had accumulated five yellow cards and had to serve a mandatory one-match suspension but in their absence, the Canadian side still managed to pick a comfortable win.The team is currently unbeaten in their last eight games and in Charlotte they face an inconsistent side. The team had managed four wins in the last ten games with half of the games ending in defeat and Montreal will be keen on extending their unbeaten run to nine games in the north.Currently third in the log, a win for Montreal could take them to the top of the Major Soccer League (MLS) table should Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls drop points in their respective league assignments this weekend.« L’équipe est bien. Il y a cette confiance qui est présente. Mais je le répète : il y a aussi cette humilité qui est très importante. » – @samuelpiette >>> https://t.co/gqYLPzBetVMontreal looks to extend unbeaten streak in @MLS to 8 games >>> https://t.co/HSPZTIFVR4#CFMTL pic.twitter.com/tI5zvhjZ2H— CF Montréal (@cfmontreal) May 13, 2022 Montreal coach Wilfried Nancy is wary of the threat posed by Charlotte. He is also concerned with the fact that they will be playing on an artificial turf against a team de describes as interesting.“They’re a good team. We’re going to face a different style of play. We’re going to play on turf and away from home. We haven’t played a road game in a while. It won’t be an easy game, like all games in MLS. Their head coach plays his team in an interesting way. There’s a lot of reflection that went into their style. I’m not surprised by their good results. It’ll be interesting to see what we can do against them,” he stated. Simba and bad boy Morrison part ways? The match is slated for a 2AM EAT kick off.
