Brentford duo report racist abuse of family at Everton

Everton are helping police identify suspects after Brentford’s Rico Henry and Ivan Toney reported members of their family were racially abused during the Bees’ 3-2 win at Goodison Park on Sunday. Henry, who scored the winning goal to keep Everton at risk of relegation, took to social media after the game to call for the incident to be investigated.I will do anything for them & whatever it takes to get the small minority punished! This is not acceptable & must be investigated immediately.— Rico Henry (@ricohenry14) May 15, 2022 “I never usually speak out on things that don’t physically harm me or my family but to see my mom upset after being racially abused by a few Everton fans brought fire to my stomach! I will do anything for them & whatever it takes to get the small minority punished! This is not acceptable & must be investigated immediately” Henry wrote on Twitter. And for the man that racially abused my family Il do everything I can to get you the punishment you deserve! 👍🏾— Ivan Toney (@ivantoney24) May 15, 2022 Toney also tweeted: “For the man that racially abused my family, I’ll do everything I can to get you the punishment you deserve!” In response to Toney’s tweet, Everton said: “There is no place in football – or society – for racism. We are assisting Merseyside Police to ensure the individual is identified and dealt with appropriately”.Everton commits suicide against Brentford, remain in the danger zoneThe defeat leaves Everton’s 68-year stay in the top flight still at risk. Frank Lampard’s men are two points above the relegation zone with two games left to play. Two points will be enough to save Everton as Leeds, who only have one match remaining, are a point behind and have a substantially inferior goal difference.© Agence France-PressePREMIER LEAGUE – Round 37SundayTottenham – Burnley 1-0 (1-0)/Kane 45+8 pen/Aston Villa – Crystal Palace 1-1 (0-0)/Watkins 69 – Schlupp 81/Leeds – Brighton 1-1 (0-1)/Struijk 90+2 – Welbeck 21/Watford – Leicester 1-5 (1-2)/Pedro 6 – Maddison 18, Vardy 22, 70, Barnes 46, 86/Wolverhampton – Norwich 1-1 (0-1)/Nouri 55- Pukki 37/West Ham – Man.City 2-2 /Bowen 24, 45 – Grealish 49, Coufal (og) 69/Everton – Brentford 2-3 (2-1)/Calvert-Lewin 10, Richailson (p) 45-+ – Coleman (og) 37, Wissa 62, Henry 64/Monday22.00: (4.10) Newcastle (3.50) Arsenal (1.94)Tuesday21.45: (8.00) Southampton (5.10) Liverpool (1.42)***odds are subject to change
