Sam Nyamweya offers solution to solve FIFA Suspension

Former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Sam Nyamweya has waded into the current football impasse in the country and revealed how Kenya can have its FIFA suspension lifted.The country is currently serving a FIFA Suspension for government interference in football after Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Amina Mohamed disbanded FKF back in November on grounds of misappropriation of public funds.Oliech reacts to Kenya’s expulsion from AFCON qualifiersNyamweya shared the sentiments of a majority of Kenyans who have been left dissatisfied by the performance of the FKF Caretaker Committee whose tenure came to an end on Tuesday 10 May after which a Transition Committee was appointed to run football in the country for five weeks.The veteran football administrator noted that now that the FKFs National Executive Council (NEC) is not in place, Nick Mwendwa who is the former President cannot be reinstated so the government should open FKF Secretariat’s office and thereafter have a discussion with FIFA.“The Caretaker Committee had crooks but the Chairman is a man of integrity though he does not understand football. Under Nick Mwendwa football was in tatters and the sponsors were running away and the leagues were being poorly run so the government was right.What the government should have done was to talk to FIFA and CAF when the Caretaker Committee was appointed and they should have operated for a short period before putting in place a Normalisation Committee,” added Nyamweya.
