Victor Omune grabbed a double as AFC Leopards downed FC Talanta 3-2 in a league match staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.Both teams had been out of action for a fortnight after last weekend’s games aborted. Ingwe got a walkover after Kariobangi Sharks failed to show up for the game at the Nyayo National Stadium while Talanta’s duel against Gor Mahia was postponed on match day after the visitors protested Talanta’s decision to take their home game to Bukhungu.The Ken Kenyatta led team got the first chance of the game inside the first minute but Barrack Odhiambo was denied by Levis Odhiambo on a one on one situation, he parried the veteran’s point black shot for a corner. Leopards responded with a chance of their own two minutes later but Ojo Olaniyi’s shot was blocked for a corner kick.From a quick break, Ingwe were awarded a spot kick in the 7th minute after Shela Mandela hacked down Victor Omune in the penalty area. In the absence of designated taker John Makwata, the forward stepped forward and successfully converted for an early Leopards lead. He first parried an Edwin Lavatsa shot from inside the area before saving a Thomas Wainaina low shot on the rebound.After the flurry of chances in the opening quarter an hour, the game slowly became cagey with most of the action taking place in the middle of the park. Both teams however looked dangerous on the break.From a freekick delivery, Ingwe doubled their rally in the 31st minute. Ingwe took a 2-0 to the break.A minute into the second half, Talanta had a great opportunity to halve the deficit but Michael Jairo failed to direct his header from a Wainaina cross home.The visitors showed massive improvement in the opening minutes of the second as they went all out in search of goals. They were however kept at bay by Ingwe defenders, at the other end Leopards looked dangerous whenever they went forward.Omune continued misfiring, he missed another opportunity in the 64th minute after he was set up by Mukangula. With only the keeper to beat. He fired wide.Talanta got a spot kick ten minutes from time for a foul inside the area. Substitute Brian Yakhama stepped forward and converted. A minute later, another substitute Kevintom Machika leveled the scores after pouncing on a loose ball inside the area.Omune then settled the tie with a stoppage time belter from inside the area.
