Captain Mieno calls for focus among Brewers

Ahead of the league’s homestretch, Tusker FC’s captain Humphrey Mieno has issued a rallying call to his teammates to remain focused and strong mentally for the final three games of the season. The Brewers are looking toward defending the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title, and Mieno believes they have to be at their best mental strength to achieve that.Robert Matano’s charges are joint top with Kakamega Homeboyz with 56 points after the latter lost three points following Mathare United’s relegation, but have a superior goal difference to keep the atop of the table.Up next we duel with the sugar miller’s at the Complex. pic.twitter.com/shIKmlUXCT— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) May 19, 2022 While Tusker have three matches to play, Homeboyz have four, reason Mieno believes they should remain focused and avoid any slip-ups.“The most important thing is to remain focused and with a strong mentality. That is what is required in these remaining matches. We need to win all three games and hopefully, we can emerge champions. We were in a similar situation last year but this season we have a different set of players. But all in all the team needs to remain focused on a match at a time and now the target is to earn maximum points against Nzoia Sugar on Sunday,” Mieno is quoted saying on the club’s portal.💪| Back to work. pic.twitter.com/WsqigWVL8L— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) May 17, 2022 Further, the skipper adds that the progress they have made this season is enough motivation for everyone involved at the club to help them push to the end and retain the title. However, he is calling upon his colleagues not to be complacent and get comfortable but instead fight to the end.“We have come so far as a team and it is really positive and encouraging to see the progress since the start of the season. It is a big motivation for the players, management and coaches and it shows we are headed somewhere. But it is not enough where we are now and we can’t relax. We need to fight more and keep working hard until the end,” he added.
