Akhulia: It has been a bad season

Bidco United coach Anthony Akhulia has admitted that their second season in the top flight has been a difficult one and is already looking forward to next season’s campaign.Currently 14th in the log with 30 points, United have been underwhelming compared to last season where they put in some good performance and got wins over top guns in the league and reached the FKF Cup semifinal.Akhulia admits it has been a rough season for his charges but he brushes it aside saying all teams undergo such things in football, he is focused on making amends for next season.“It has been a very difficult season. It is a season with a lot of issues, we also have our internal issues but we are trying our best to get out of our current position. We are on a bad patch and such things happen in football but the unfortunate part is it has come at the wrong time, at the tail end of the season,” he stated.“The important thing is to remain in the league next season, we will make corrections where we went wrong this season and do better than we are doing this season”.We will not be in action this weekend. Our next league action will be on Saturday 28th May against Bidco United.#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/JgCsFmdIy3— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) May 20, 2022 At the start of the season, Akhulia said that the goal was to finish in the top ten positions, a feat he admits will be very hard to achieve.“Last season the goal was to remain in the league, this season we wanted to finish in the top ten positions but the truth is with our current form whereby we are dropping points, it will be very difficult to achieve that. Right now, we just want to remain in the top league then make amends ahead of next season,” he added. On Saturday, they went down to Kenya Police FC by a solitary goal and the tactician admits that it was down to another defensive issue.“It was another defensive lapse as has been the case this season and they scored in the first half. We came back strongly in the second half looking for a goal but we could not score, we played well in the second half but we just could not score. We go back to the drawing board and plan for our next game, we will work towards winning our next game,” he added.Next for United is an away game against Wazito FC on Sunday 29th May.
