Mombasa Elite quartet fly out for trials

National Super League side, Mombasa Elite has announced that four of their players have flown out to an unnamed country for trials. The club says the trip is meant to for nurturing training and education purposes.The four players are defenders Dan ‘Kelly’ Odhaimbo and Sharrif Majabe who is also the team skipper, midfielder Chrispine Erambo and striker Brian Galo. The club announced on Monday that the four left last week and missed weekend action against Silibwet in Bomet.“Last week, some of our elites (Jacob Kelly, Brian Galo, Chrispine Erambo and Captain Shariff Majabe) left the country for trials. Our goal to discover and identify young gifted football players for the purposes of nurturing, training and educating them into becoming elite players is now a reality for these elites who got the opportunity and are likely to potentially progress to professional level. They are all very good players and that is the reason we send them out. They are good players, we have nurtured them well and we are confident that finally they will find their way to Europe where we want them to play eventually. We cannot reveal where they are right now , we will do that another time,” he told Mozzart Sport.The former AFC Leopards midfielder does not believe that the team will be hurt by the four players’ absence.“We played over the weekend without them and won in Bomet. We have a squad of 30 talented players and I do not think that missing four players should be a problem for us. The available players will step up and fill that void, I do not think that we will have any problems,” he added.Elite are currently 8th in the National Super League log with 37 points. Next for them is an away game against APS Bomet.
