Stanford women’s golf made history at this year’s NCAA Championship.
The Cardinal were the No. 1-ranked team in the nation and the No. 1 seed and went on to win the national title at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, the first top seed to do so in the match-play era. Stanford defeated No. 2 Oregon, 3-2, in the final match with faculty fellow and academic advisor Condoleezza Rice watching.
Earlier in the week and the day before her 19th birthday, freshman phenom Rose Zhang claimed medalist honors by three shots at 6 under, following in the footsteps of teammate Rachel Heck, who won the individual title in 2021.
