Kenyan academy up against Liverpool in prestigious tournament in Poland

Legacy Academy, a Kenyan football academy based in Karura, Kiambu, is representing Africa in the Salt Mine Cup that kicks off this weekend.The glamarous annual tournament is famed for hosting junior sides of some of the best teams in the world and this year Liverpool leads the line. Others that will participate include Sporting CP from Portugal, Dinamo Zagreb, Banik Ostrava amongst others.Kenyan duo pick a win in the USAThe team left for Poland earlier this week and played a friendly against Ukraine AllStars yesterday in preparation for the tournament.

Legacy Academy beat various other academies in February to qualify for the Salt Mine Cup in 2022. Founded by revered youth coach Stanley Okumbi who also serves as the Sporting Director, the academy trains at the Karura Forest football pitch along Limuru road.
