Nzoia Sugar FC forward Levis Okello Barasa is hoping to overwrite his 13-game goal drought in the remaining two league matches to retain the club’s Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) status.Following a spectacular start to the campaign, Barasa hit a speed bump in the second half of the season as his goals dried up which coincided with the club’s poor run of form.Babu issues rallying call ahead of key season-endersSpeaking to Mozzart Sport, Barasa who has scored eight league goals revealed why he has endured a long barren run of goals and is hoping that his return to form will inspire the club to victory.“The balls were not getting to me as quick as I would have wanted to from the midfielders and our wingbacks who usually deliver most of the crosses. In the coming games I’m confident that I will get more goals and help the club avoid relegation because we are currently not in a good place on the table,” said Barasa.Prior to their win over KCB over the weekend, the Millers had gone eight games without a victory, a result which had left them in grave danger of facing the drop.Barasa who was handed a red card in the 2-2 draw against Bandari noted that the sending off affected his form but reiterated his confidence in beating the drop.Okanda predicts an easy win for Nzoia against KCB“The red card I got has sort of slowed me down but I’m sure in the games that I missed I could have come up with something but that is part of football. The team will remain in the league. All the players in the squad are fighting for survival and that is what is giving me the confidence to say that,” added Barasa.
