KCB attacker Derrick Otanga is now focused on bagging the golden boot after his side missed out on the 2021/22 FKF Premier League title. With two matches to go, the Bankers, who finished second in the log last season are out of the title race in what has been a disappointing season for the Zedekiah Otieno-led outfit. After pushing Tusker all the way to the wire last season, many anticipated that they would compete this season but they have been disappointing and at some point has just one win in 13 games.Otanga however leads the scorers’ chart. The former Sony Sugar FC and Wazito FC attacker has found the back of the net 14 times, one more than Kenya Police’s Clifton Miheso and two ahead of Kariobangi Sharks’ hotshot, Felix Oluoch. He admits that he feels pressure in the race for the boot but is confident that he can emerge top should he score more in the final game of the season that will be played in two weeks’ time.Derrick otanga appreciation tweet pic.twitter.com/ixwxQpqRgU— DON SILVA (@silvamutio) May 21, 2022 “I can feel the pressure of course because everyone is eyeing the accolade when the season comes to an end next month so I must make sure I score more,” he told Citizen. The attacker further admits that they have been underwhelming this campaign but wants his side to win its remaining league match.”We know that we didn’t hit our target after a good start but we will fight until the last whistle,” he added. With Mathare United relegated, KCB have one match left; they end the season with an away game against Bidco United at the Thika Sub-County Stadium on Sunday 12th June.
