Lukaku agrees terms with Inter, but what about Chelsea?

Romelu Lukaku wants to join Inter (again), because he is not happy in Chelsea (again). The Belgian international was (in a way) forced to leave the Nerazzuri as they faced financial problems and he choose his first English club Chelsea to go to, aiming to put things right this time. Needless to say, he failed. So, he aims to get back to Inter, the only club in which he really shone. But, it’s easier said than done.#Lukaku is ready to reduce his salary to €7m to make a comeback to #Inter with a deal for 2 years loan with obligation set at €50m after the loan, the player is pushing! pic.twitter.com/IpAGab4Uvd— ENJOY INTER (@EnjoyInter) May 28, 2022 Inter are still in financial turmoil, not like a year ago and not like Barcelona for example, but they need to sell and they cannot afford to play even the third of Lukaku’s price. A loan is the only option, but two more obstacles are there. The first one, Inter would like a two year loan, to avoid huge taxes and the second one – will Chelsea agree to all this?Chelsea overhaul: Granovskaia at the exit door, Atletico’s sports director to put out the fire at Stamford BridgeNegotiations are underway with Inter and according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport from Italy, they will be intensified in the coming days in order to try to reach an agreement with Chelsea and complete the transfer before July 1. The reason? Taking advantage of the ‘Growth Decree rule’. The scheme lets teams in Italy buy players from abroad with significant tax breaks, as long as they stay in the country for at least 24 months. Lukaku has already decided to lower his demands and will take a significant pay cut just to seal the deal with Inter, but now it’s Chelsea’s turn.21.45: (2.35) Belgium (3.40) Netherlands (3.25)Coach Thomas Tuchel wouldn’t ‘cry’ that much if Lukaku would leave the club, but the Blues need reinforcement in the attack before they ship him to Italy. However, their main task will be to strengthen the defense after Rudiger and Christiansen left as free agents. Not to mention that Marcus Alonso would like to leave. Inter is not putting all their hopes on Lukaku case, and they are negotiating for weeks with free agent Paulo Dybala. If they struck the deal, no one can tell if they’ll continue to pursue Lukaku, because they would then have four good players battling for one starting position: Lautaro, Dzeko, Dybala, Lukaku. To be continued…
