Despite two games still left before curtains come falling on the season, AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems has left the country on what seems like compassionate leave.Aussems took charge of his final game of the season as Ingwe suffered a deflating loss to arch-rivals Gor Mahia 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw on regular time of the Madaraka Day Cup.Levis Opiyo explains howler against Gor MahiaThe Belgian tactician revealed that he is set to cut short his eight-month stay in Kenya to spend time with the family as hoped the club will finish the season on a high despite his absence.“Goodbye Nairobi! After 8 months of living alone, it’s time for me to enjoy my family: my wife and my sons who returned from Canada to spend a few days with us. |Ingwe fans, staff and players: finish on the last 2 games the good job we have done so far …See you soon!” read a tweet from Aussems. This will however not be the first time Aussems leaves the country as he returned in late September 2021 with the season being a few games old after leaving before the end of last season. In his absence, his assistant Tom Juma will be expected to take over the reins after also steering the club on previous occasions when Aussems left the country. Ingwe are left with a clash against a limping Nairobi City Stars and will close the season with a date against relegation-threatened Nzoia Sugar.
