Akhulia explains Nzuki’s new position

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has explained why he opted to field captain Peter Nzuki in central defence against Wazito FC on Sunday. In a move away from the norm, Akhulia paired Nzuki a central midfielder with Francis Oduor at the heart of defence snubbing the likes of Anthony Simasi, Collins Okumu, Gabriel Wandera and Kassim Mwinyi who are all natural central defenders.##NAJAVA_MECA_6436489##The former Tusker FC and Nakumatt midfielder put in an assured display at the back as his team ended its five-match winless run by beating Wazito who are battling the drop from the top tier this season. I have tried pairing nearly all the players but the problem persisted and that’s why I decided to field Nzuki in that position,” he told Mozzart Sport. He went on to laud the veteran midfielder saying he brought confidence and stability in the whole team as he does not tolerate mistakes at the heart of defence.”I wanted to see what he can do for us and he was exceptional, he made our defence solid, being a senior player, he does not condone mistakes in that area and he brings that confidence in the team in general because when the other players see him at the back they know that we are safe and it’s a good thing for the team,” he added.Next for Bidco is a crunch home match against Tusker FC on Sunday afternoon in Thika.
