Calabar’s presence in Police FC’s camp explained

Kenya Police FC team manager George Maelo has explained the presence of Kenyan international David ‘Calabar’ Owino in the club’s camp over the past few days.With the Zambian leagues on recess, the former Gor Mahia man who turns out for newly promoted top flight side, Napsa Stars is in the country for holiday before he links up with his team for the 2022/23 Zambian Super League (ZSL) campaign that starts in August.##NAJAVA_MECA_6436495##In the last few days, the central defender has been spotted in Police’s training raising speculation that he could be set to join the Law Enforcers who in recent months have been making some high-profile acquisition to boost their ranks.Maelo has now explained the player’s presence in their training ground. There are no plans to sign him whatsoever,” he told Mozzart Sport.Owino has been in Zambia for the last seven years. He started out with Zesco United where he lasted for five seasons before decamping to Napsa. During the 2020/21 season, they suffered relegation from the top tier but managed to bounce back immediately a season later and they will now feature in the top tier next season.The 2021/22 season was a good one for the defender as he not only won promotion back to the top tier but also bagged the Absa Cup. At the end of the season he bagged a personal accolade when he was named the most disciplined player at the club.
