Oliech congratulates former side for earning promotion

Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech has congratulated his former club AJ Auxerre for earning promotion back to the top tier after a decade in the second tier.Auxerre earned promotion on Sunday after seeing off St. Etienne in the playoffs. The two teams had played out to two-all draws on aggregate in the playoffs and the match had to be settled from the penalty spot where the second tier club won 5-4 to earn promotion to Ligue 1.##NAJAVA_MECA_6436430##The aftermath of the shootout was ugly as St. Etienne players invaded the pitch and caused mayhem in protest of the relegation to the second tier.Oliech has taken to social media to congratulate the club that he played for between 2007 and 2012 before he decamped to AJ Ajaccio.Dennis Oliech hat trick in 15 minutes for AJ Auxerre in Ligue 1 in 2011. Ajaccio equally returned to the top tier league after over a decade in the second tier. The club finished second in Ligue 2 and thereby earned automatic promotion to Ligue One.Oliech who has since retired form the game is currently running his foundation, the Dennis Oliech Foundation where he helps the vulnerable in the society. Some of its activities includes donating food stuffs and sanitary towels to girls from the less privileged areas of Nairobi County.
