Ambani happy to have defensive duo back for battling Wazito

Wazito FC head coach Fred Ambani has termed the availability of Johnstoen Omurwa and Maurice Ojwang for their Saturday game against Posta Rangers as a big boost. For the first time in ten games, Wazito had two natural defenders in a match. Injuries to Omurwa and Ojwang forced Wazito to field Brian Musa and Dennis Nandwa, both midfielders at the heart of defence in what has been a rough patch for the team.##NAJAVA_MECA_6436933##On Saturday, the two players featured against the mailmen and were solid as Wazito staged a comeback from a goal down to win 2-1 a result that saw the team secure a playoff spot after Vihiga Bullets went down 41- to Kenya Police FC at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. For Ambani, having his first-choice defenders available for the game was a big boost. He says their fielding brought confidence back to the team leading to the win over the mailmen. He however admitted that the duo is far from fully fit.”It did a lot, because it’s been a while since we had two central defenders in a game, we have been working with makeshift central defenders because of injuries. They are not even fully fit but they brought that much-needed confidence and leadership, and it was evident by how we played. It was a big positive for the team because we’ve had to use central midfielders there and I don’t mean that they performed badly but it is unfamiliar territory for them and they will definitely have some limitations,” he stated.Win ni tamu sana @wazitofc pic.twitter.com/qN2g4Fw5dJ— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) June 4, 2022 Wazito will now play Bullets on Sunday as they wait to learn of their playoff opponent.
