AIK surprised by little transfer interest on Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma

In a rather strange twist of events, AIK sporting director Henrik Jurelius has revealed that Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma has not attracted interest from a number of clubs, contrary to the transfer rumour mill. Following an imperious three seasons with AIK where he has been one of their shining lights, Ouma has been linked with moves to Manchester City, Leicester City and most recently was reported to be on the radar of Celtic. Marcelo named in Allsvenskan’s team of the weekJurelius reserved high praise for the former Gor Mahia defender in an interview with Expressen as he went on to open up about the uncertainties of the transfer window. “He [Otieno] is also a player who has delivered at a very high level. He has had high peaks during the year and it is a bit surprising that there is not more interest in OtienoIt’s always a tough decision [to sell] but we have to make that decision about our possibilities. It’s very difficult to speculate on a deal when you have no idea about the size and the bids. It can be very difficult to make a decision in a squad in just a few weeks,” said Jurelius.Before the start of the season, Marcelo admitted that he would be open to a move but would not go against the club’s wishes if AIK decided to keep hold of him. Jurelius added that Bilal Hussein who has impressed this season is likely to attract a number of suitors with other players from the club also expected to draw a lot of interest. A player like Bilal Hussein who has done a year and a half now at a high level. He has performed well, but there are other players who have done so. There is an interest,” added Jurelius.
