Barely two days after the FKF Transition Committee announced Coastal Heroes’ relegation to the third tier, the same body has announced the team’s reinstatement to back to the league, generating more confusion. On Wednesday, the head of the transition’s secretariat Linda Ogutu announced that the team had been suspended from the National Super League for dishing out three walkovers to Shabana, Vihiga, and Mwatate United and in accordance with the laws, they suffered a straight drop to the third tier.##NAJAVA_MECA_6447773##Heroes however argued that they did not honour the games due to a court order that suspended the league for seven days pending the hearing of a case that had been filed at the Sports Disputes Tribunal by some clubs challenging how the league was operating without an appeals body.“I do not know what criteria they are using to relegate us, we did not play due to a court order and after that case, we were reinstated back to the league and we played Muhoroni. We do not understand how we have been relegated because the court order was stopping the league for seven days and there were two games we had not played easier with a reason and they agreed that the reasons were valid,” Heroes Team Manager Kenneth Juma said.Coastal Heroes cry foul after suspension from NSLThe Transition Committee has now recalled its earlier letter meaning the Mombasa-based club is free to feature in the second tier again.“Reference is made to the letter that was written to you on your relegation on the 8th of June 2022. Please note that the decision of the FKF Transition Committee to relegate your team has been suspended and Coastal Heroes remains in the NSL 2021/22 season and has not been relegated to the FKF Division one 2022/23 campaign,” read the withdrawal letter.FKF Premier League side, Mathare United already got relegated after they issued three walkovers. Vihiga Bullets suffered relegation as well last week after losing out to Kenya Police FC.
