Nairobi City Stars and FC Talanta played to a two-all draw in their last match of the 2021/22 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season at Kasarani Annex.Ezekiel Odera and Peter Pinchez Opiyo scored for Simba wa Nairobi while Michael Jairo and Francis Kahiro did the honors for Talanta.Rowland Makati, fresh from making his Premier League debut was handed his first ever Premier League start.Ezekiel Odera gave City Stars the lead from the spot after just 14 minutes and the hosts held on to the slim advantage to the break.Odera had been brought down in the penalty area, prompting the center referee Zacharia Ashiara to point to the spot amid protests from Talanta players as well as Coach Ken Kenyatta from the technical area.An agitated Kenyatta questioned the decision openly, feeling Ashiara had given a rather soft one.The goal was a wake up call for Talanta, as they launched a couple of attacks of their own in an attempt to level the scores.Dennis Oalo’s header could have delivered the equalizer but Elvis Ochoro stretched fully to deny him.Leading the game, Nicholas Muyoti made two changes in the first half, Augustin Kuta and Elvis Noor making way for Peter Opiyo and John Kamau. On resumption, Talanta showed more intent and took the game to City Stars end, and the efforts paid off shortly.Michael Jairo leveled matters in the second minute of the second half with a well taken strike to the top corner.Four minutes later, Talanta took the lead for the first time in the game, their second coming from the spot.Brian Yakhama was brought down in the box and Ashiara gave the second penalty of the game. Francis Kahiro stepped up to take the resultant penalty and sent it past Ochoro although the custodian had a touch of the ball.Their lead was however shortlived as Peter Opiyo delivered a sumptuous freekick into the top corner two minutes later to restore parity.A match that had looked like it would see fewer goals in in totality saw three goals scored in a span of seven minutes. For the final 20 minutes, both coaches made two changes. City Stars brought in Davis Agesa and Rodgers Okumu for Makati and Mohammed Bjarber while Talanta introduced Ronald Angal and Kevintom Machika for Yakhama and Georson Likono. For the final change, Muyoti brought in Charles Otieno for Odera who was struggling in the latter stages.Nairobi City Stars Starting XI: Elvis Ochoro, Calvin Masawa, Herit Mungai, Kennedy Onyango, Salim Abdallah, Sven Yidah, Elvis Noor, Rowland Makati, Augustine Kuta, Mohammed Omar, Ezekiel OderaSubs: Jacob Osano, Kevin Okumu, Edwin Buliba, Charles Otieno, Dennis Wanjala, John Kamau, Rodgers Okumu, Davis AgesaFC Talanta Starting XI: James Omusinde, Alvin Ochieng, Thomas Wainaina, Nicodemus Malika, Luis Masika, Castro Ogendo, Georson Likono, Dennis Oalo, Francis Kahiro, Brian Yakhama, Michael JairoSubs: Isaiah Wakasala, Peter Njammah, Erick Shikonoh, Maurice Dukully, Michael Omondi, Rodgers Angal, Kevintom Machika
