Two-time title winning former Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has once again pulled the rabbit out of the hole after miraculously helping South African side Baroka Swallows FC from being relegated out of the top-flight Premier Soccer League (PSL).With the PSL Promotion playoffs ending, The Dube Birds, who were in serious danger of suffering the chop, needed a victory against University of Pretoria in their last do or die match if they were to play top flight football next season. After a tense first half on Wednesday that ended all square with both sides failing to find the back of the net at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, Yagan Sasman gave Swallows the lead on the hour mark with a left-footed volley on the edge of the box, following a miscued header by a Tuks defender.Dylan Kerr does it again! 👌Swallows retain their top-flight status. This time, the Englishman helped Swallows survive the ignominy of suffering a fifth relegation in seven years through the playoff route“It is hard to sum it all up in words. I have done this four times now. First time in the playoffs and I hate it. But credit to the everybody for the job they have done. They have given me headaches and heartaches but it was all about the final and we managed to keep our PSL status,”Two-time title winning former Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr saves yet another South African outfit from relegation, this time helping Baroka Swallows maintain their top flight status.pic.twitter.com/OhIC27f2Hb— Ochieng’ Stephen (@soo_ochieng) June 16, 2022 “There have been many things that have gone on that have been hard for me personally, for my technical bench, the players and their families as well but we did it. A massive credit to everybody and very pleased for every fan. This means everything to me because I love this country and the PSL,” the coach remarked after the top-flight saving game.
