Defence minister Eugene Wamalwa has promised to help AFC Leopards reclaim the land that was awarded to the club by former president Daniel Moi in Kasarani and also help the team construct its own stadium.The 20-acre piece of land adjacent to the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani was awarded to the club by the former head of state and there have been fears that the land was facing grabbing with reports of encroachment by private developers.##NAJAVA_MECA_6465980##In 2020, former Vice-President, Musalia Mudavadi donated Ksh. 633,000 to kick-start the process of I reclaiming the land. The money, was set to be paid to the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning to facilitate the processing the land’s papers. The club is yet to give an update on the same.On Thursday, the club unveiled a new sponsor, Spotika. This came after the club lost another sponsorship three weeks ago when Betsafe announced it was terminating its deal with the club. We will continue working together to make sure our club has a permanent home. We shall engage the corporate world to enable Leopards to own a modern stadium,” the CS is quoted by the Nation.Leopards finished the 2021/22 season in fifth place and they will be looking to better that performance next season.
