CROMWELL, Conn. — When there’s a drivable par 4 on the course, it’s going to be one of the most entertaining holes to watch, especially if it comes at a critical point in the routing.
This week at the Travelers Championship, No. 15 at TPC River Highlands is a par 4 that plays less than 300 yards, but trouble awaits in every direction for wayward tee shots. There is water to the left, but pros who bail out to the right can easily wind up in bunkers and heavy rough. The green complex is also extremely undulated, so any could pro feel a bit uncomfortable.
“Well, this one (15) is right up there at the top,” Charles Howell III said Thursday when asked about the best drivable par 4s on the PGA Tour.
That got us thinking, what are some of the other great drivable par 4s on tour? We only included holes we see on an annual basis, so major championship layouts are not included.
Here’s our list.
