WAFCON 2022: Secure World Cup football, Eto’o urges the Indomitable Lionesses

Cameroon Football Federation President Samuel Eto’o has urged the women’s National team to at least reach the semi-final in the Women African Cup of Nations that starts on Saturday in Morocco.Cameroon is among the 12 women that will be taking part in the continental tourney, the premier competition for African football. They head to Morocco seeking to head Nigeria’s domination in the competition. The Super Falcons have won 11 out of the 13 editions of the competitions, the other two were won by Equatorial Guinea who will not be in Morocco.##NAJAVA_MECA_6471790##The tournament will also serve as qualifiers for next year’s women’s world cup which will be staged in New Zealand. Four teams from Africa will qualify for New Zealand 2023 meaning securing a place in the tournament will top the priority list for most teams.Addressing the players before they flew to Morocco, Eto’o urged them to secure a world cup ticket like their men counterparts who will be heading to Qatar. He appeared to downplay Cameroon’s chances of lifting the title. They finished third during the 2018 edition staged in Ghana.”Sincerely, if I tell you that I was awaiting a victory for us, I would be lying. You’ll play many matches like this. For me, you’re the best in Africa, but that’s not the dream I have for you. It is here that I await you because in Africa we will be in at least the semi-finals. The real challenge is here, it’s the next World Cup,” he stated.Talking of Lushomo here is something special she did, A free kick from the center in the Cosafa 2018 against the Indomitable lionesses of Cameroon 🇨🇲 who were the guest team. pic.twitter.com/tWi88ANKzG— #Mr-Zambian-Football (@Mubajnr) June 23, 2022 He added that he wants to see the Cameroon women’s team play in big tournaments and promised to organize a match between the team and the French national team.UPL side lands youthful coach“And like I was telling the representative of the president of the French Football Federation; I wish that we also play France in Yaounde.
