Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech says that Mathare United founder Bob Munro should consider selling the club to an owner who will take the club forward and continue with its mission of giving players from informal settlements a sporting chance. The Slum Boys got relegated from the FKF Premier League in May after issuing three walkovers in a row. This was a culmination of what had been troubled last few years due to financial challenges that had bewildered the 2008 league champions.##NAJAVA_MECA_6477785##Mathare has over the years given young players from the slums majorly a spotting chance and Oliech is one of the beneficiaries of the Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) programs. He played for the Slum Boys shortly before he moved to Qatar and later France. The former Mathare man believes that it is time for Munro to sell the club to a person who will take the club forward and continue giving youngsters a sporting chance.“If Bob can find a good buyer my opinion is that he should sell the team because right now the future of the club is very bleak. The team struggles will also take a toll on him and he needs to get rid of it by selling it to the right person. Mathare has helped many talents over the years and it should continue to do so but right now, in its current state, things look bad,” he told Mozzart Sport. Munro tips troubled Mathare United to return stronger“Bob’s name is already in Kenyan football history – his spot is secure in the legends corner. He should now start thinking about Mathare United post him. He should prepare to handover, get a buyer who shares his vision, sell and take a back seat.”Oliech further believes Munro being in charge of the club is becoming a problem for the club and it is time to pave way.“He has done a good job with Mathare but his continued stay is now an impediment to the team. Football long moved away from a one-man show, when you are the only one calling the shots things can easily go wrong,” he added.
