After winning the club’s elections on Sunday for a second and final term, AFC Leopards Chairman Dan Shikanda has called for unity in the club, asking everyone to put their differences aside.Shikanda was up against Ronald Namai in the elections that were held on Sunday at the Moi International Sports Centre indoor games Arena as he beat the former Ingwe CEO to clinch a second term at the club.Shikanda reelected AFC Leopards chairman after trouncing NamaiSince taking office in 2019, Shikanda has overseen a turbulent tenure at the club that was worsened by external factors such as the Covid-19 pandemic and football wrangles in the country.In his first term in office the club also witnessed a mass exodus of players with players downing their tools due to delayed salaries but among the positives was the appointment of head coach Patrick Aussems who has been a revelation to the club and promotion of young talents.Shikanda is expected to steer the club till 2025 as he promised to kick start the building of a stadium in the parcel of land located around the Kasarani Stadium and Goal Project.In a letter sent to the AFC Leopards fraternity, Shikanda called for unity and asked everyone at the club to shelve their differences and work towards building the club.Napali pens heartfelt letter after taking charge of AFC Leopards Treasury“I believe it’s time to continue with the work we started.
