Ugandan youngsters head to Europe for trials

Fourteen Uganda U19 team (Fundi) players are set for trials in Europe with clubs in France, Spain, Portugal and Scotland, Tororo County South MP Fredrick Angura revealed.The penciled trials are a culmination of the team’s February trip to Spain where they played a number of build up matches with top scouts across Europe in attendance. They are now set to try out in Europe with the hope of earning deals.##NAJAVA_MECA_6483847##The 14 players are; Eric Ssenjobe, Derrick Emukule (goalkeeper), Rashid Mukungu, Raymond Derrick Onyai, Nicholas Kabonge, Alfred Onek, Ivan Junior Ocholit, Andrew Okiring Isiagi, Ali Ramathan Mwerusi, Simon Baligeya, Ivan Irinimbabazi, Hakim Kiwanuka, Enock Walusimbi and Sadat Happy Anaku.Six players will try out in Spain. They are; Ssenjobe (Athletico Benidorm CD), Emukule (Athletico Benidorm CD), Mukungu (CF Lanucia), Onyai (Intercity), Kabonge (CF Orihuela), Ocholit (Velez CF).Four others head to France to try out. The four are Mwerusi (FC Vaulz En-Velin), Baligeya (FC Lyon), Irinimbabazi (Olympique De Vaulz En-Velin) and Kiwanuka (Olympique De Saint Genis Laval).Portuguese club Boavista will monitor Onek and Okiring closely during a trials period. Two others head to Scotland. We returned wholesomely and returned safely. Managed to play four games; won three matches and fell in one (2-1). The different scouts picked interest in many of our players.
