Former Kakamega Homeboyz tactician Benard Mwalala has come out to shed light on what exactly transpired between him and the club.On Monday, vocal Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula said that the club had decided to fire the entire technical bench led by Mwalala, sentiments that have been refuted by the coach.According to the former Bandari tactician, he parted ways with the club on different terms that he would not disclose, and was not fired as claimed by the chairman.Kakamega Homeboyz disband technical bench after epic heartbreakFurther Mwalala revealed that his contract with the Kakamega-based side was close to lapsing at the time of parting ways.“I want to assume that he has been misquoted by the media because there is no such thing as firing, I was not fired but parted ways with Kakamega Homeboyz on different terms of which I cannot disclose because of the professionalism in me. Furthermore, my contract was coming to an end,” Mwalala told Mozzart Sport.For his parting shot, the former Kenyan international expressed his gratitude to the entire Homeboyz fraternity, from the management to the players, as well as the fans for pushing the team as they dared to dream last season.“I want to thank the management for giving me the opportunity to lead the team last season. I want to thank the players for the cooperation and fighting spirit they showed throughout the season, they were cooperative took in instructions well and I wish them well in their careers. I also want to thank the home supporters they really pushed the team throughout the season and I urge them to keep supporting the team and the incoming coach,” he addedBernard Mwalala wasn’t fired. Twice with Bandari when we finished behind Gor Mahia for two seasons and last season at Homeboyz. I think last season is the closest we came but in football, things happen and my goal of winning the league as a coach remains alive, I believe that I will achieve it someday. For now, I take a break and focus on other things, my future will be clearer soon or later and once that is settled, I will make it public,” the coach finished
