Sierra Leone Football Association launch investigations on 91-1, 95-0 League Results

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is investigating two first divisions matches involving Gulf FC versus Koquima Lebanon and Lumbenbu United against Kahula Rangers in the ongoing Eastern Regional Super 10 League.The two matches saw a total of 187 goals scored, Lumbenbu destroying Kahula Rangers 95-0 on the road while Gulf FC hammered Koquima Lebanon 91-1.Investigations will be conducted on the Eastern Region Football Association, Officials designated to officiate both matches, and Players and officials of Gulf FC, Koquima Lebanon FC, Kahunla Rangers FC, and Lumbebu United FC, according to a statement released by the Federation.@SLFA_sl investigates impractical match results from two 1st-Division matches in the ongoing Eastern Regional Super 10 League. pic.twitter.com/UtsFBrQAdu— Sierra Leone Football Association (@SLFA_sl) July 4, 2022 “Following recent reports on two 1st- Division matches -Gulf FC vs. Koquima Lebanon and Lumbenbu United vs. Kahula Rangers- in the ongoing Eastern Regional Super 10 League which apparently produced impractical results of 91-1 and 0-95 respectively, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) would like to inform the general public that it has opened an official investigation into the outcome of the said matches and the following are of interest:1. Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA)2. All Officials designated to officiate both matches (Gulf FC vs Koquima Lebanon FC & Kahunia Rangers FC vs Lumbebu United).3. Players and officials of Gulf FC, Koquima Lebanon FC, Kahunla Rangers FC and Lumbebu United FCIn compliance with FIFA and CAF rules against match manipulation or anything of sort, SLFA maintains a zero tolerance in same.The general public is therefore assured that the said matter will be thoroughly investigated and anyone found culpable will face the full force of the law as prescribed in the SLFA CODE OF ETHICS,” part of the statement readSierra Leone 🇸🇱 Football Association (SLFA) has began an investigation into allegations that claim match officials and some clubs have been involved in match fixing following 91-1 and 95-0 victories recorded by Gulf FC and Kahunla Rangers FC on Sunday.— SirEvans1 (@TheOnlySirEvan1) July 4, 2022 The incident comes just a month after South African fourth-tier sides Matiyasi FC, Shivulani Dangerous Tigers, Kotoko Happy Boys and Nsami Mighty Birds were found guilty of fixing matches after 94 goals were scored in just two matches.Both Tigers and Matiyasi were fighting for the top position to gain promotion, and the former went on to win 33-1 over Happy Boys as Matiyasi defeated Mighty Birds 59-1.Investigations conducted later found the four sides guilty of match manipulation, leading to bans.
