Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning took to Instagram during the holiday weekend to show off his customized golf cart.
“Happy 4th! God Bless America!” Manning captioned the post.
Manning’s cart prominently features a Denver Broncos logo on the side and a Tennessee Volunteers logo in the middle.
Manning, PGA Tour member Keith Mitchell, tennis star Andy Roddick, Jim Nantz and a number of other partners are riding a high as the group’s nine-hole Sweetens Cove has emerged as one of the golf world’s darlings, often considered a must-play for those in the area. Even the “heckledeck” was named one of the best 19th holes by a poll of Golfweek raters.
In the comments of Manning’s post, some Broncos fans mocked the Indianapolis Colts for not being represented on the golf cart, but the other side does feature a Colts logo, it’s just not shown in the post.
Manning debuted the customized cart in 2020 for “The Match,” a charity golf event featuring Manning, Tom Brady, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Manning and Woods beat Brady and Mickelson (1-up) and helped raise $20 million for COVID-19 relief efforts.
Manning spent the first 14 years of his NFL career in Indianapolis, reaching two Super Bowls and winning one. He then spent the final four years of his career in Denver and reached two more Super Bowls, winning a second title.
Manning retired from the NFL in 2016 and he’s been working on various projects with ESPN since then. He’s also a candidate to join the Broncos in an advisory role for the team’s (pending) new ownership group.
