Kenyan international and Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi forward Masud Juma missed on the Best Foreign Player award in the Moroccan Botola Pro League narrowly, losing to Burkina Faso’s Issoufou Dayo.The Burkinabe defender who turns out for RS Berkane trounced over the former Kariobangi Sharks forward and Congolese striker Guy Mbenza who plays for Wydad Casablanca and ended the season as the top scorer with 16 goals, winning the golden boot award, as Wydad clinched the title.

The awards were organized by the Moroccan Union of Professional Footballers and nominated the Kenyan forward following a blistering end to the season where he scored three goals in the last seven games.The gala that was held to honor all teams and players including women from the Moroccan leagues and saw Wydad dominate the individual awards, apart from being picked as the club of the year.The former Kariobangi Sharks forward started the season with a bang, netting in his opening game of the season but a thigh injury meant that he missed a majority of the first leg matches.Masud ends season in Morocco with four goalsAt the turn of the year, Masud witnessed a change in fortunes as he started every game in 2022, scoring three goals and providing one assist.Masud is currently on holiday after curtains came down on the Moroccan Botola Pro last weekend as he scored in the final game against Rapide Oued Zem.
