Immigration boss replaces Musalia Mudavadi as AFC Leopards patron

Alexander Muteshi, the Director General at the Directorate of Immigration Services is the new AFC Leopards patron. He takes over from ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.Muteshi, has been active in Ingwe activities in recent years including club fundraisers, helping take care of the club welfare, and also helped raise funds for the Elijah Lidonde Cup that was played over the weekend at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Leopards won the inaugural edition of the tournament and pocketed Ksh. 1 million prize money in the process.##NAJAVA_MECA_6505557##He has now been made club patron, taking over from Mudavadi whose term has expired. Club chairman Dan Shikanda while announcing the appointment lauded Muteshi for standing by the club for the last two years when the team was struggling with FIFA cases and salary arrears.“Muteshi has been very supportive. He has stood with the club, including when we urgently needed Sh6 million to pay our former players and coaches to avoid Fifa sanctions. He has always been there to mobilise funds when the team was struggling to pay players’ salaries especially in the last two years when Covid-19 struck,” he told the Nation.On his part, the softs-spoken Muteshi said he will ensure that the players’ welfare is well handled.
