Perennial league bottlers KCB send five players packing after latest misery

FKF Premier League side has begun preparing for their 2022/23 campaign by axing five players to create room for new arrivals. After a great 2020/21 season in which they were in the title race until the final day before eventually losing out to Tusker FC, KCB’s 2021/22 campaign was a disappointing one and they ended up finishing seventh in the log.##NAJAVA_MECA_6505687##Coach Zedekiah has now begun reshaping his team and has decided to part ways with five players mostly seasoned names.“The five players have been told that they are not in the coach’s plan. All of them have contracts that are ending and they will not be renewed, they were told not to report to training and have even left the team’s Whatsapp group,” a player from the Bankers’ camp told Mozzart Sport.Leading the departees is former AFC Leopards captain Robinson Kamura who joined the team before the start of last season. Early in the season, he was a regular for the Bankers but towards the end, he had to settle for a place on the bench as Zico opted to pair Nashon Alembi and midfielder Brian Ochieng at the heart of defence.Joining him out of the club is another 2021 acquisition, David Okello. The veteran goalkeeper joined the Bankers at the start of last season and was the first choice goalkeeper towards the end of the season but the former Mathare, Tusker, Sofapaka, and Thika United man will now have to find a new home.KCB captain Simon Abuko has left the club after the expiry of his contract.Abuko has been with the Bankers for the last five years.
