Following another underwhelming season in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL), Gor Mahia interim coach Michael Nam has promised the K’Ogalo faithful of a surprise next season as they hope to recapture the title. The last time Gor Mahia landed the league title was back in 2019 when they were handed the crown after Covid-19 disrupted the season with Tusker FC winning it back to back after upsetting KCB and Kakamega Homeboyz in respective seasons. Why Gor Mahia’s interim coach is reserved on upcoming pre-season friendliesNam reiterated that Gor Mahia is capable of pulling a surprise even when all odds stacked up against them as he also touched on the FIFA suspension the country is currently serving.”To the fans, I’d like to tell them that Gor Mahia is a team of surprises, today they can be down but tomorrow they’ll be okay. It’s not normal to have a Federation having quarrels with FIFA but we are praying that the government will look for solution to solve issue,” said the former Vipers SC head coach.Heading into the new season Gor Mahia will still not sign players as they are still serving a transfer embargo for the unlawful dismissal of their former player, Dickson Ambundo.Nam added that last season was disrupted after taking over the reins mid season when former head coach Mark Harrison was shown the door as he commended the team for their third place finish.Gor are coming to regain the title – Rachier warns”Last season was different because took over midway through the season in the second leg and we found the team already in place and as we all know Gor Mahia is currently serving a FIFA ban and we have been relying in the youth team.We have fought all we can and we are thankful firthe third place we got and we also commend the players, the technical bench and that will give us the moral to push for more,” added Nam.
