Former AFC Leopards captain heading to Botswana after ditching Police FC

Midfielder Duncan Otieno has become the second player to ditch ambitious FKF Premier League side Kenya Police FC after Duke Abuya departed on Monday.Abuya, who joined the team at the start of the season left on Monday for Singida Big Stars of Tanzania. The newly promoted side tabled an irresistible offer for the former Mathare United, Kariobangi Sharks and Nkana ace who then decided to move to Tanzania inking a two-year deal with the DTB bankrolled side.Otieno, also an ex Nkana, AFC Leopards, Lusaka Dynamos and Posta Rangers man has now announced that he is leaving the club after one season. He termed his season with the law enforcers as an enjoyable one, thanked them for the support they accorded him during his stay at the club and wished them well for the future.”I can confirm that I am leaving Kenya Police FC, I will not sign another deal. I enjoyed my season with the team and I want to thank everyone in the club for the support that they accorded me during my time there, I wish the team all the best for the future. He however refused to disclose the identity of his new home saying he will do that a the ‘right’ time.“I am heading to the Botswana league. I have an agreement with one of the clubs there, I do not want to go into details at this point. I will make things public at the right time,” he added.The law enforcers are currently in the process of beefing up their squad and have already recruited Baraka Badi a right-back from KCB, Patilah Omoto a midfielder from Kariobangi Sharks and are eying more players for recruitment not only in the team but also into the police force.
