Outspoken Yanga spokesman banned from football activities for two years

Vocal Yanga spokesman Haji Manara has talked himself into trouble as the Tanzanian Football Federation Ethics and Disciplinary Committee has locked him out of football activities for two seasons.Manara who made an infamous switch of allegiance from Simba to current champions Yanga last year was reported to the committee following an altercation witnessed in the FA Cup final pitting his side and Coastal Union early this month. What next for Haji Manara? ….🤷🏻‍♂️ pic.twitter.com/Z8PPxkLEpI— WorldSports14 (@WorldSports14_) July 21, 2022 It is alleged that Manara engaged TFF President Wallace Karia in a heated exchange shortly before the final kicked off, an act that attracted the wrath of the committee that went on to fine him Tsh20 million.Days after the final where Yanga emerged victorious on post-match penalties, Manara was pictured with Karia with reports suggesting that he had apologized to the federation chief and consequently, the two had buried the hatchet. The communications guru went on to hold a press conference meant to unreservedly apologize to Karia, a tactical move that was apparently meant to avert the possibilities of a sanction. In September 2020, Manara was fined five million Tanzanian shillings for interfering with the duties of the committee. This is not the first time a Yanga media liaison officer is being caught in the wrong side of the law as Hassan Bimbuli was banned for three years from engaging in football activities and further slapped with a five million Tanzanian shillings fine.
