FC Talanta central midfielder Vincent Otieno has resumed training after recovering from a knee injury suffered while in action against Gor Mahia in the penultimate round of the concluded season. The fast-rising player bore the brunt of a fifty-fifty challenge between him and combative Gor midfielder Ernest Wendo at the Kasarani Stadium and would leave the pitch with a heavily bandaged knee.##EDITORS_CHOICE##The setback was initially feared that it would potentially keep the youngster out of action for quite some time given the nagging nature of knee injuries but he says, he is back to training ahead of the new season.Otieno who has been training with his boyhood club Rongo Youth proved a marquee signing for the club as he pulled the strings in the midfield in the past season despite being his first in the top flight.##NAJAVA_MECA_6520922##Talanta acquired his signature from National Super League side Fortune Sacco on a two-year long deal according to the club although the player insists that he penned a three-year longer one.“I resumed full training a couple of days ago. I am currently training with Rongo Youth just to test whether the knee is okay and to regain fitness before we report for pre-season. I did X-ray and other scans a day after the injury and the good thing is nothing of major concern was exposed in the process,” he said. The return of the midfielder leaves the club with a single major concern ahead of the new season as forward Mohamed Sebi remains sidelined.
