Ronaldo debuts under Ten Hag in United’s draw against Rayo

Christian Eriksen can play ball and will be a proper signing in midfield and Cristiano Ronaldo finally started his new chapter under coach Erik Ten Hag – these are the highlights from the Manchester United’s final pre season game in which the Red Devils managed a draw against mediocre La Liga side Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford: 1-1. The Dutch tactician provided a fairly strong squad for the home fans, with both Eriksen and Ronaldo in the starting 11, along with Varane and Lisandro Martinez in defense and Alejandro Garnacho on the wing. 🚨 | Manchester United vs Rayo Vallecano | Full Time 1-1 ✅In 📍 Old Trafford , Manchester 🔴#MUFC , #MUFC_FAMILY , #MUTOUR22 , #Trending pic.twitter.com/MO1tv8A3Rv— ManUExclusive◽ (@_iamchadhalford) July 31, 2022 Biggest story was of course Ronaldo’s comeback as this was the first time that the Portuguese forward participated in any United’s game since the end of last season. He had the first Manchester chance during the game, but he blazed the ball over the bar, before being substitued in the second half, as Amad Diallo came in and scored the only goal for United. Second best chance apart from the goal came from Christian Eriksen, who shot the post from distance. Alex Telles took a shot from distance which was saved by Diego Lopez, but Diallo fired home the rebound.

Rayo Vallecano equalized in similar fashion, when Palazon took a shot, Heaton saved it, but the ball went to Alvaro Garcia Rivera who turned a rebound into an easy goal. The guests should have scored literally after 10 seconds of the match, but the home keeper prevented and unwanted surprise.
