More headaches for crisis hit Wazito as Ugandan keeper ditches sinking ship

Ugandan goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya has become the latest player to ditch cash-strapped Wazito FC, signing for Wakiso giants in the Ugandan Premier League.Ssekagya has been with Wazito since November 2021 when he signed for the club from Vipers SC of Uganda. He was the club’s first choice keeper at the start but slowly lost the starting berth to Zamu Adisa with the team battling to avoid relegation from the top tier.##NAJAVA_MECA_6542245##He has now returned home less than a year into his two-year deal with the club. He becomes the third player to ditch Wazito who have not paid their players since February. The player has signed a two-year contract with the club with an option for a further year.“Wakiso Giants is pleased to confirm that Bashir Ssekagya has joined the club, signing a contract until 2024 with an option for a further year,” read a statement from the club.New Wakiso coach, John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda lauded the custodian describing him as a keeper with great potential. He added that the keeper joins the team with a bit more experience that will benefit his ambitious side.“His talent and potential is undoubted and we are glad he chosen us.
