Kakamega Homeboyz have raided the relegated Mathare United for three players to boost their ranks ahead of the 2022/23 season that commences at the end of August.The team narrowly missed out on the league title after a slip towards the end that resulted in them losing out the title to Tusker FC on goal difference. Coach Bernard Mwalala has since left the club but the Kakamega-based side are yet to get a replacement with a host of coaches turning down the opportunity to handle the side. Topping the list is Nzoia Sugar forward Levis Okello who was the Millers’ top scorer last season with nine goals.Homeboyz have further boosted the team with three players from Mathare United. The three are striker Eugene Wethuli, a former Nairobi Stima player, Alphonse Ndonye, who was one of the longest serving Mathare players, Meshack Muyonga, the defensive midfielder who joined Mathare United at the start of last season from Dandora Youth.”All the four players have signed their contracts with the club and are training with the team.
