Restructuring City Stars sends seven packing

Nairobi City Stars CEO Patrick Korir has explained the status of the club with a big chunk of the squad out of contract and the team yet to resume training in readiness for the new season.Most FKF Premier League teams are weeks into pre-season and are also featuring in friendly matches to sharpen their sides ahead of the new season that commences on 27th August, for City Stars, however, everything is lowkey and the team is yet to hit training.##NAJAVA_MECA_6548743##A big chunk of the playing unit is also out of contract meaning they could leave for other teams and Korir has now explained that they are in the process of tying down some of their players whose contracts expired in June. He however admitted that some of the players will not be offered new deals.“In January 2020 we planned for the FKF Premier League and handed players two-year deals from July to start at the end of their NSL contracts. Most of them expired in June this year and are at the point of renewing some. Others will however leave after running there’s down,” he told Mozzart Sport.Korir went ahead to give the names of those who will be exiting. Abdalla has previously played for Ligi Ndogo, Sofapaka, Posta Rangers and AFC Leopards. Also exiting is another veteran defender Wycliffe Otieno who is an ex-Sharks player.He has been with city Stars for the last three years.Joining them out is utility man John Kamau whose second stint with the club comes to an end so does midfielder Charles Otieno. Forward Davs Agesa also departs and so does former Tusker FC captain Michael Madoya who joined the team last season from the Brewers.
