United, managed by Rooney, paid Crystal Palace $6 million to sign their Kinshasa-born Belgian international Benteke on a two-and-a-half-year contract.Benteke joins D.C. United after spending the last ten seasons in the English Premier League with Aston Villa, Liverpool, and most recently, Crystal Palace.
