United (@dcunited) Manager Rooney told the reporters in America that Benteke would make a ‘huge difference’ playing in the MLS.”Christian is a top player who has played at the highest level for a long time. His experience and ability to score goals and help the team will be invaluable. It’s exciting for the team and myself to get him in and playing. He will make a huge difference.”The Eagles’ boss Patrick Viera wouldn’t stand in the way of the player who had lost his place in the London team.”This is something he wanted to do. When players want to play, and you can’t guarantee them time or games, you have to let them go. Christian spent six years at this football club, and he was fantastic for the football club. This is something he wanted to do, and we wish him all the best.”##NAJAVA_MECA_6556991##Benteke will undertake ‘orientation’ with the Black and Red, including meetings and light workouts. He is United’s sixth signing in the window, which is now closed in MLS, with Miguel Berry, David Ochoa, Martin Rodriguez, Ravel Morrison and Victor Palsson all joining Rooney’s side.
