Vihiga Queens coach urges players to be careful with moves abroad

Vihiga Queens coach Boniface Nyamunyamu has advised women footballers to be cautious when making moves outside the country saying not all offers from clubs outside the country should be considered. There has been a surge in the numbers of Kenyan women footballers moving across borders. Tanzania has become the latest destination of choice with Simba Queens, Yanga Princesses, and Fountain Gate Princes Academy all scrambling for Kenya talents with the country currently under a FIFA suspension over government interference.##NAJAVA_MECA_6557682##Some moves however have turned toxic. Bertha Omita for example complained of sexual harassment when she signed for Simba and left after a season to join Gaspo. She has since moved to India to sign for Gokulam Kerala.Nyamunyamu has now advised the players to only settle for moves that will impact their careers positively.”Not every move outside the country is good for the player in as much as their ambitions to play in big leagues abroad. Some players have regretted making wrong choices after seeing their careers head south. The likes of Bertha Omita (Gaspo) and Linda Kosgei of Nakuru found the going tough when they opted to leave the country,” he told the Star. Some Kenyan 🇰🇪🇰🇪 Flavor in our Attack Lets welcome Bertha Omita to our Family 😍😍😍#BattaliaGKFC #Malabarians #GKFC #ShePower pic.twitter.com/KUKca51o2f— Battalia Gokulam Kerala FC (@battalia_gkfc) August 10, 2022 “Coaches have even ended up paying fares for players to return home. It’s not always smooth sailing abroad. Choices matter and have consequences as well and sensitization is the only way to fix the dilemma,” the league title-winning coach added.Meanwhile, the 2022/23 Women Premier League will commence in September.
