AFC Leopards accuse Kenya Police FC of player tapping

A dispute between AFC Leopards and Kenya Police FC is brewing over the ownership of young midfielders Marvin Nabwire and Daniel Musamali who are now in the ranks of Police but have not been released by Ingwe. The two players went AWOL at the end of March and it later emerged that they had been recruited to join the police FC although later Nabwire left the training camp over a private issue and is training with Kenya Police FC awaiting the next recruitment exercise.##NAJAVA_MECA_6573121##Ingwe on the other hand maintain that the two players are still in their books and there are no plans to let them go. Nabwire has been with Ingwe since 2018 when he joined the team straight from Kakamega High School. Musamali equally moved to the den from school. He joined Ingwe in 2019 after sitting for his final exams at St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale. For the 2020/21 season, he was loaned out to Nzoia Sugar FC.AFC Leopards Secretary General Gilbert Andugu now says police are playing games with the two players. He disclosed that the law enforcers recently tried to complete their transfers but Ingwe rejected the requests promptly.”When we asked them (Police FC management) how they took the two players they insisted that the players attended the police recruitment exercise and were selected to join the police force like ordinary citizens and that they were not signed for Kenya Police FC,” he told Mozzart Sport.ReportsEx AFC Leopards captain Marvin Nabwire left the Police training camp in Embakasi after it was discovered that he has a tattoo (s).He is currently training with Kenya Police FC awaiting the expiry of his contract with Leopards/agreement between the two clubs.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/NQsGFUtFqZ— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) May 17, 2022 “However, two weeks ago, we saw a request from them in the system seeking the transfer of the two players from AFC Leopards to Police FC. We immediately rejected the request because the two are legally contracted to Ingwe and we cannot allow them to leave without talks and compensation. We signed them straight from school, we have nurtured them and the laws of how to sign a player from other teams are clear, there are no shortcuts, ” he added.Leopards have now threatened to take legal action. They claim what the law enforcers are doing is player tapping.”This is player tapping.
