Former Barcelona striker and African legend has just finished his visit to Senegal and is off to Ghana today. Fans and media members in all three countries will be able to get all the information about the World Cup, host country Qatar, accommodation, fan experience and other topics.Merci Senegal for your incredible hospitality 🙏🏿 A real pleasure to visit the Abdoulaye Wade stadium and discuss the inescapable reign of African football during this year’s @FIFAWorldCup pic.twitter.com/6kCd9rxy3u— Samuel Eto’o (@SamuelEtoo) August 18, 2022 Eto’o finished his visit to Senegal and talked about various topics with Africa being the main theme in most of them.“I am here as a son of the continent. I decided to work with Qatar to make the World Cup better. Our only problem in Africa is that we don’t believe ourselves. We have the best footballers in the world. Sadio Mane is an example of this. It is one of the best in the world. For me it is even the best in the world. Winning the World Cup is possible for Africa. My dream is for Cameroon to win the trophy. But if it is Senegal, I will also be very happy. However, Africa must know that this is its world cup. We must respect everyone even if we have nothing to envy to others” said the Cameroonian.Eto’o, the moral booster: We are going to Qatar to win the titleFormer Inter striker was also asked about a situation in which Senegal, Cameroon and Ghana national teams are led by Africans, and former internationals, but also commented on the fact that there are only 5 teams from the continent who will be going to Qatar in November.“Today, I am a happy president to have Rigobert Song as coach. I am very delighted that the President of the Republic of Cameroon and his Government are supporting us in this direction. Here in Senegal, Aliou Cisse was contested. But there is also stability. In my own country, Senegal have been champions of Africa. I like Senegal enormously. We must all protect Aliou Cisse to give us the best of ourselves. We have a confederation with 54 countries but we only have five qualifiers. With our 54 countries we deserve more than 5 places. That’s not normal. The CAF must discuss this with Gianni Infantino to resolve this anomaly. There are confederations which have fewer countries but which have more places than us” reminded Eto’o.CAF demands an investigation in the wake of Napoli president’s unacceptable anti-African commentsNapoli owner and president Aurelio De Laurentiis made a commotion in Africa a few weeks ago when he said that African players should sign documents when signing for his club that would legally prevent them from travelling back to Africa and appearing for their national teams. And off course, Eto’o had something to say about it.“Aliou Cisse has taken a stand. We are for defending African football. I have a better player playing in Napoli. If he is summoned, he will answer the call, no offense to the president of Napoli” said Eto’o.##NAJAVA_MECA_6572649##
